Second, a 3-Quart stainless steel pan. My favorite is the All-Clad D5 Stainless Steel Sauté Pan. The one I currently own is 5 Quarts. Now, the sauté pan you buy is your preference, but I recommend stainless steel and going for a bit higher quality. Although higher quality pans are expensive, they will last you forever.
